Individual learning towards an independent life

Secondary Curriculum KS4

Based on the capacity and subject specialisms within our staff the subjects listed below will be available for students to study. Most subjects will be offered as a GCSE as well as a suitable alternative qualification being available. It is expected that all students will study the core subjects and choose a maximum of three foundation subjects. Areas of the curriculum such as Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE), Life Skills and Physical Education (PE) will continue to be given time to support students prepare for an independent adult life and remain active.

Notes:

  • GCSE English is worth two GCSEs – Literature and Language
  • GCSE Science is a Double Award worth two GCSEs
  • The Hospitality and Catering qualification is a Level 1/2 award and not a GCSE
