On Monday 10th July The Wherry School held its inaugural transition day for children, parents, carers and support staff. During the day we explored reactions with the Empiribox Science lead teacher who will be supporting the school, visited the school site and also took part in art activities, which allowed everyone time to meet teachers, make new friends and look forward to joining the school in September.
We have now received an up to date list of children who have expressed a wish to join us at The Wherry School in September. Over the next couple of weeks Rachel Quick, Principal and Mr Robert Speck, Vice-Principal, will be undertaking Home Visits to all of the children. The purpose of the visits is to meet with families and the children in their home setting, to talk through any anxieties and concerns and explore the best way forward for every child as they transition to the school.
